Overview
A company manufactures artificial companions that replicate deceased women for their widowers. Police officer William Bradwell receives a companion made in the image of Meredith, but her buried memories and contact with an android-rights movement gradually expose the truth about her identity.
ASFR Content
Meredith is an artificial human designed as a near-perfect replacement for a dead woman. Her memories can be wiped and restored, behaviour is governed by safety protocols and companion programming, and multiple earlier versions of her have already existed. The film eventually reveals that Meredith can override those restrictions and that the same technology can reproduce other humans as androids.
