Overview
Innobotics tests Mary 25, a human-looking android nanny programmed to protect children, but the experiment becomes entangled with domestic abuse and a hidden second android identity.
ASFR Content
Mary's prime directive forbids anyone from harming the children, but its literal interpretation causes increasingly dangerous behaviour. Engineer Melburn Ross alters Mary's programming so that harm to the children's mother also counts as harm to the children. Mary then kills Charlie Bouton when he attacks his wife. The final twist reveals that Teryl herself is actually Valerie 24, an unfinished companion android whose face and hair were altered to replace the real Teryl after Charlie killed her.
