People who have been around ASFR for a while will remember the original ASFR.net from a long, LONG time ago. It was essentially the front door into the fetish. Time passed, though, and people moved on to what was back then the new FemBotCentral.
Fast forward to today...AI is here to stay. Whether you believe in Ed Zitron's proposal that the AI bubble is going to pop sometime within the next year or so and OpenAI and Anthropic go down in flames (along with a big chunk of Nvidia), or you believe that AI will just continue...it doesn't matter either way. With DeepSeek and a myriad of Stable Diffusion/QWEN/ComfyUI locally hosted (on your own PC) image generators...AI image generation is now here...and it is here to stay, even if OpenAI and Anthropic go bankrupt. The purchase of HuggingFace, one of the biggest AI and text generator model repositories by NVIDIA last month has let everyone know that NVIDIA is taking locally hosted AI generators very seriously and wants to support them.
ASFR.net will always be supportive of AI-generated images, and will openly support the hosting and posting of those types of images (as long as ya stick with the rules, obviously). The site itself will be undergoing a three-phase overhaul to make it the "Front Window" of A.S.F.R...here's the plan...
PHASE 1
The Link Directory. Just as the name suggests. A repository of links to sites, Discords, X/Insta accounts that are related to ASFR, whether it be fembots, malebots, robots, anything that fits into the traditional ASFR category.
The Master List. A list of practically ALL TV Shows & Movies that feature androids, cyborgs, robots, hell, even talking super computers. The Master List will have almost every single show or movie that has featured an android or robot in it at some point of the show. With the advent of ChatGPT's Projects system, automatic timestamps of relevant scenes in the video can also be generated.
PHASE 2
The Gallery. This will be a big one. Think Flickr...but for members of the ASFR community. Front end hosted here on the web server that's already hosting the main site and forum, with the backend (the storage) being on the TrueNAS server hosting the FTP. I was toying with the idea of using a wiki, but I'll be honest, I HATE dealing with the wiki platform. It's cumbersome, needs too much knowledge of code, and is waaaaaay too time-intensive to manage. A dedicated, separate gallery system, where users can create an account, have their own profile and simply upload pictures into their own gallery for public view, is a far more elegant solution...but, I am going to be coding the front end of it myself, so it may be buggy for the first few months, just giving you all advanced warning. Also, for the people asking, "Will it host video"? Yes, it will... but with certain limitations.
PHASE 3
Patreon, Expansion & Creator Storage. This will be the last major stage and will kick off probably midway through the end of the beta test phase of the gallery. The Gallery will be FREE for everyone; I'm going to state that now: no "Pro Subscription" just make yer account and start uploading. However, storage will become a problem in the future. The FTP itself is already taking up 2TB on the TrueNAS. Opening up the gallery to video and image hosting is going to start chipping away at the basic storage, which means it will need expansion drives in the future.
Patreon will basically be a baseline monthly donation. I'm thinking £5 a month; that's about $7.50. If 5 people sign up, that's the web hosting for the year paid for. If 10 people sign up, that's web hosting, with money being put away for expansion drives for the NAS. If 20 people sign up, that's everything I previously mentioned paid for, PLUS the 1GB up and 1GB down symmetrical fibre line I have at the house also being paid for. Yeah folks, it's not cheap running all of this...
Ontop of the supporter donation £5 level though, I am also going to include a £10 a month option for creators, especially video creators. With that £10 a month, you will have 350GB of private storage on the FTP server that only YOU can access. The £10 a month level will be limited to only 5 to 10 accounts at the start (due to the current amount of free space on the NAS). With the current trend of cloud storage companies now scanning the contents of private storage accounts and deleting or outright banning what they consider "Pornographic" content...this Creator Storage idea might prove useful.
Phase 1 is currently being mapped out and built up. Phase 2 is going to take the longest since it's an image hosting system built from scratch; work on that will begin sometime in November, with Phase 3 kicking off and launching after the new year.
