XPENG is getting closer...

Post by Barbarella »

I've been keeping an eye on this company for the past year, their humanoid android is getting closer and closer to what will essentially be full domestic production...

That female version of the Xpeng Iron is pretty sexy. The DroidUp Moya robot and the UBTech U1 robots are worth keeping an eye on too. :D

Definitely getting closer. These are also just the public facing ones, but nonetheless are making huge strides. I am sure there are some others further along that are just keeping it under wraps given the topic. Once they get it figured out behind the scenes, I would expect multiple companies to come forward with more well polished and complete systems.

I'm very skeptical of these. There's a high chance it's just another smokeshow and the real commercial product will be another sexdoll coupled with AI speech. Chinese companies aren't known for their trustworthiness and there's apparently a humanoid robot bubble going on there.

I'll wait the consumer reviews.

I was also VERY sceptical, until they posted a video of the XPENG Iron with all the covering removed. It does look VERY technical though; I have little faith that this will be released as a "domestic" robot, and if it is... it's probably going to be extremely expensive.
