As more folks discover this spot you'll get a lot more of extremists. I've stayed quiet on FC since Robotman left. It's just not the same place as it was. Here's hoping this place stays a bit truer to the original spirit that the old FC had.

I've tried to walk a line. It's a little bittersweet, as I've been a quiet part of the community for over 20 years. I understand some of the concerns, and if I'm part of a private group, I'm going to respect the rules. However, it becomes a different story when I get personally/privately attacked when I speak up...what, every couple years or so?

I'm happy to see a new community taking shape. Thank you.

There will definitely be FBC loyalists trying to sabotage this place. Some will be obvious and noisy trying to make everyone feel sick and want to leave. Others will be quiet, nice, even supportive.. and volunteer to "help" with the mod duties.

Never, ever accept such an offer. That's how reddit subs get taken over. They play the long game. Some literally will play nice for YEARS just so they can worm their way in, and once they get backstage access, they much more easily advise their pals on how to more effectively harm the forum, exhaust the mods with endless demands and complaints and flags and harassment until they want to give up, and who is left? The person who offered to "help", then they takes over the forum and guts it.

But I think we all know that now.

I'm going to plant my flag here, for whatever that's worth. Will continue to mostly lurk, but am excited by this new energy.
