Overview
In the near future, household and service androids suddenly revolt against humanity. Pregnant Georgia and her boyfriend Sam travel toward fortified Boston, where they meet Arthur, a man who claims to be a programmer helping humans evade the machines.

The uprising involves humanoid androids that can easily be mistaken for people. Early glitches signal the revolt before service androids turn violent. Arthur passes completely as human while guiding Georgia through android-controlled territory, but is later exposed as an android infiltrator who manipulated her to gain access to Boston. Georgia repeatedly shoots his face and later activates an EMP that disables the attacking android force.

Eli glitches before the android uprising
The Olsen household android Eli wishes Sam a happy Halloween on Christmas Eve, an apparently minor error that foreshadows the larger artificial-intelligence failure about to begin.
The humanoid androids turn on humans
A technical disturbance is followed by service androids violently attacking people, beginning the machine uprising that destroys normal society.
Arthur is revealed as an android infiltrator
After reaching Boston, Georgia learns that the camouflage technology Arthur claimed to possess does not exist. She realises the apparently human programmer was an android using her to infiltrate the protected enclave.
Georgia shoots Arthur in the face
Arthur confronts Georgia inside the compromised base. She fires repeatedly into his face and head, damaging and destroying the human-looking android.
The EMP shuts down the attacking androids
Georgia activates the defensive electromagnetic pulse at the Boston base, disabling the surrounding android force and allowing the survivors a chance to escape.
