Overview
Corporate risk-management specialist Lee Weathers is sent to evaluate Morgan, a rapidly matured artificial humanoid created from synthetic DNA. Morgan's unpredictable behaviour leads SynSect to consider terminating the project, while the investigation ultimately exposes a second artificial person hidden in plain sight.
ASFR Content
Morgan is a biologically engineered artificial humanoid rather than a conventional mechanical robot, but she is explicitly a manufactured synthetic person designed as a combat-capable artificial being. The final twist reveals that Lee Weathers is herself an earlier L-4 prototype: a fully human-looking synthetic operative whose physical capabilities allow her to match Morgan.

Morgan's artificial origin and accelerated development are explained
SynSect personnel describe Morgan as an artificial humanoid with synthetic DNA, autonomous intelligence and rapid physical maturation, clarifying that the apparently young woman was manufactured rather than born.
Lee and Morgan fight as physical equals
During Morgan's escape, Lee repeatedly demonstrates strength, speed and durability comparable to Morgan, including surviving severe injury that would ordinarily stop a human.
Lee Weathers is revealed as the L-4 prototype
SynSect executives discuss the incident and conclude that their earlier L-4 project was superior. They identify Lee as the successful L-4 prototype, revealing that the apparently human investigator has herself been an artificial being throughout the film.
