Overview
Prisoners in an apparent alien labour camp discover that their supposedly human overseers are actually ageing androids continuing an obsolete mission.

The Commandant reveals that he and the overseers are machines with synthetic dermal layers. Decades without maintenance have made their bodies brittle. During the revolt the machines are destroyed; the Commandant's severed head remains functional briefly before stopping.
