Here's where AI really comes into its own. Taking screenshots from low resolution 70's and 80's TV shows and enhancing them. This is Jan from the first episode of Beyond Westworld. I've included the two reference images....

The AI-sharpened & upscaled versions are gorgeous. I remember trying to do this with screenshots of Jan a couple of years ago, and they made her look like someone else.

They were enhanced in ChatGPT image. You need to be VERY specific with the prompt though, otherwise it ends up making a brand new character based on the original.

Here's that i said in the prompt.

"This is the character Jan from the US television show 'Beyond Westworld'. They are low quality images due to the original video being low quality as well. I would like you to digitally enhance these images to make it look like the scrrenshots were taken from a 'DVD Release' of Beyond Westworld. Digitally enhance, enlarge, but base the enhancements off of the original reference images. **DO NOT CREATE A WHOLE NEW CHARACTER** the enhanced images must be of the reference 'Jan' images from Beyond Westworld."

That done the trick.

GPT is very specific in the way it reads prompts.

I was going to ask what AI image enhancer you used. ChatGPT usually works the best for me too, but falls down the stairs when the subject is scantily clad. But ChatGPT made some great and clear images of the robots Siri from the Logan's Run Pilot and a nameless redhead robot from Le Gendarme et les Extraterrestres which I used in my latest game. I've seen this site make some good results from old images too:
