The Gallery is now out of beta testing and is ticking along now as basically V1. Now its time to filter in small updates to how the front page and the background running of the gallery acts. So, heres a question...

What do you want to see for the gallery?

Any ideas you have, post 'em here.

A few ideas:

1. Have a weekly featured media set 3-8 (images and/or videos) randomly chosen or the most active/viewed that week. That could help create the incentive to continually post better quality media as well as reward artists making what people like.

2. Add a full image view (raw image) page for images so that when you click the image on the image page (https://asfr.net/gallery/image.php?id={id}) it let's you view just the image so that it is easier to zoom in, view the full res, etc for some of the highly detailed images or images with aspect ratios that don't fit perfectly. The current page is great for seeing the image metadata,uploader,etc though and I like how that is now.

It is hard to come up with more since you have done such a good job on the gallery!

love it so far! only idea that's popped into my mind so far is being able to scroll within a Gallery.

while inside a Gallery of Images or Videos, would be nice to click Next or Previous and scroll through the Gallery without having to back out and select another.

I have a question about the capability to "re-order" gallery images and albums. Specifically, is it possible to upload to an album a batch of images that need to be viewed in a certain order and then assert this viewing order when the album is viewed?

The reason for this is that I have some mini-comics I want to upload. Uploading them sequentially results in the page order being reversed. Uploading them in reverse order results in the correct page sequence, but then the final page of the mini-comic is used as the album thumbnail image. It would be nice to be able to re-order images after upload, or at least to specify which image should be used as the album thumbnail.

TOTALLY agree with being able to sort your items! good call.

to set the Album Cover:

open the Album and click Manage Album



then scroll down to the image you want as the Album Cover and select it.



scroll ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM and Save Album.

Done.
